Buy Your Home Theater Receiver and Speaker System In One Box

Home Theater In a Box It is my firm opinion that the only two remaining manufacturers of value-packed Home Theater In a Box surround sound audio systems for those on a budget are Onkyo and Yamaha. Unlike all other companies that offer all-in-one box solutions, these two manufacturers actually sell home theater receivers and surround sound speaker systems individually, so you know that their best one box solutions will let you easily upgrade either the receiver or speakers in the future if and when you decide to. For maximum flexibility with potential future component or speaker upgrades, you may prefer to avoid purchasing 1) any system that includes a built-in Blu-ray Disc player, 2) any system which includes a subwoofer that is not self-powered, meaning the sub gets its amplification from an extra channel on the AV receiver (such as Onkyo's entry level HT-S3800 or new HT-S3900 model), and/or 3) any system which includes proprietary non-standard speaker wire terminations (versus standard binding posts or spring clips) running from the AV receiver to the speakers (such as Bose Lifestyle systems).

Onkyo is the one and only audio manufacturer to ever offer a Home Theater In a Box that is actually THX-certified! Their new 2017 model Onkyo HT-S9800THX 7.1 speaker surround sound audio system pictured below left has just recently become available. The 2-way speakers and 12-inch front-firing 125 watt RMS powered subwoofer are certified to meet THX Integrated System standards. The receiver is Dolby Atmos and DTS:X capable, network-ready, and Powered Zone 2 capable and features seven HDMI inputs and 2 HDMI outputs. Warning: The box weighs well over one hundred pounds!
