Unless you've got a LARGE, at least semi-light-controlled room and plan on pairing a home theater projector together with a BIG projection screen to create a LARGER-THAN-LIFE experience, you are probably looking at a high definition television as the video display for your home entertainment system.

If you are looking for a home theater screen size measuring from 73 to 92 inches diagonal and/or will be doing primarily daytime viewing in a room with potential ambient lighting issues, consider one of Mitsubishi's 3D-ready 1080p rear projection televisions, especially their 75 inch LaserVue television. They are NOT flat screens and are NOT designed to be wall-mounted. (The top-of-the-line 92 inch DLP TV measures 25 inches deep and weighs nearly 200 pounds.)

For TV screen sizes measuring in the 32 to 70 inches diagonal range, you are probably looking at an LCD, LED-LCD, or plasma flat panel television. Many major manufacturers offer 3D-ready models in this size range although these TVs will also look nice in 2D.

To experience video in three dimensions on a 3D television, you will need 3D glasses, as well as a 3D-capable Blu-ray Disc player and some Blu-ray 3D movies and/or 3D-capable DIRECTV HDTV tuner connected to a satellite antenna and a 3D HD programming package. Use high speed HDMI cables for connections.
